Meet the Team
Jonah Phillips started Crossword Hobbyist in 2013 because someone told him not to start a website for teachers, and he doesn’t like being told what to do. He gave Crossword Hobbyist its sister site, My Word Search, in 2015. Before starting Crossword Hobbyist, Jonah graduated with honors from the University of Chicago in 2008 with a degree in Economics and Public Policy, and worked for four years on analytics and operations at an online lender in Chicago. He currently lives with his girlfriend in Brooklyn, New York.
Melissa Connor brings experience in a variety of customer service and client management settings to provide prompt answers and solutions for our user base. Transitioning from a career in digital marketing, Melissa can now be found enjoying the benefits of working from home in her sweatpants while studying nutritional therapy. A Boston native, she now calls the seacoast of New Hampshire home with her boyfriend and their daughter (okay, their cat).
Noah Mormino lives in Southern Louisiana with his wife and two children. He studied digital design at Southeastern Louisiana University before starting his career as a full-stack web developer. Since 2005, Noah has been building custom web applications and now gets to turn his attention to crafting educational tools for Crossword Hobbyist and My Word Search.
Joey Shakespeare studied computer science at The College of New Jersey. He began programming at 13 years old and has worked as a professional web developer for the past eighteen years. He currently lives in Maryland with his wife and son. They are expecting another child in July.
